Manitou Sunset Riders 2018 - 2019 

We welcomed a new year with new leaders and a new approach. We very much appreciate all the work involved from our old head leaders!!

 

So this year we have 9 members ranging from peewees to seniors. We started off learning how to conduct a business meeting and voting for an executive. We meet once a month with a business meeting followed by guest speakers. We started with Kim Vancawenburge from Masterfeeds tell us all about horse nutrition. Dr. Gillian Dobson performed dental on one of our members horses and explained all about horse dental health. We had a speech seminar to explain how to write great speeches, followed by the next meeting presenting amazing speeches to friends and family. We had a presentation on equine emergencies and practiced bandaging. We have the kids fill in record books all year to learn how much it costs to feed and care for their horse. We want to have a club that welcomes new members of all riding abilities our goals are to learn by doing and of course have fun while we are at it!!!

 

Spring brings us the fun stuff!! We want to focus on riding and utilizing our Ag Society arena!! We have some riding clinics planned. We also plan on riding Monday nights at the Manitou Agricultural Society grounds. This all leads up to our big fair day which we have all worked so hard on!! Can't wait to see you there!!
