In the Municipality of Pembina there are various services available for seniors in Manitou, La Riviere, and Darlingford.
Services to Seniors offers a Congregate Meal Program at the Kinsmen Haven and the Pembina Manitou Place (55+) within Manitou, and at the Lodge in La Riviere.
We offer noon meals from Pembina Manitou place (55+) on Mondays and Fridays, and from the Haven on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please call Bonnie at 204-208-4243 to place an order from the 55+ and Esther at 204-242-4422 to order a meal from the Haven. We also offer meals on Wednesdays from The Lodge in La Riviere. Please call Bonnie at 204-208-4243 to place an order from The Lodge. Please note the cutoff for ordering meals is the Noon the day prior. We offer free delivery within town limits. Cost per meal is $9.00 and meal certificates can be purchased at the office located at 315 Main Street; cash or cheque only.
Services to Seniors offers help accessing services such as house cleaning, foot care, transportation, sewing and mending as well as Lifeline.
We loan a variety of mobility equipment for short term usage and gratefully accept donations for use when it is offered. We cannot guarantee a specific item as availability depends on community demand.
The Pembina Community Resource Council is comprised of nine volunteers from the communities who have dedicated their time and energy to help provide our community through Services to Seniors with programs, and activities which will benefit the lives of our community seniors.
Services to Seniors is located at 315 Main Street, Manitou. Our work hours are Monday 8:30a.m. – 4:00p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 8:30a.m. – 5:00p.m. Someone is usually in the office Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m. – 10:30a.m. and the staff may go out in the community after 10:30a.m. Best to call the office to make sure someone is there after 10:30a.m.
